Chair Yoga In chair yoga, we focus on fostering flexibility, strength, and balance through a series of supported poses and gentle challenges. By incorporating mindful movement and coordination between poses, participants can enhance proprioception while reducing the risk of injury. Join us as we explore the structured yet accessible practice of chair yoga, designed to promote physical well-being and functional movement patterns. "Tracy's class combines learning and gentle movement. Each class takes takes us from the Chair to standing poses. This helps me to build core strength and improve my balance." - Coreen J. Yin Yoga Yin yoga is a practice designed to cultivate harmony between the mind and body. By stimulating the body's meridians, or energy pathways, it promotes equilibrium among the organs, fostering overall balance and well-being. Through purposeful techniques, yin yoga facilitates the smooth flow of prana, resulting in reduced stress and anxiety. Additionally, this practice enhances circulation, flexibility, and joint mobility, contributing to improved physical health and vitality. Hatha/Yin Combining Hatha and Yin yoga styles within a single practice offers a comprehensive approach that incorporates both passive pose holding with more dynamic sequences. Through this fusion, practitioners can experience a harmonious balance of energy levels and can cultivate a deeper sense of mindfulness. "The practice of yin/yang yoga helps us learn about stillness in movement and the flow in stillness." Sarah Powers Gentle Hatha Yoga In this slower Hatha practice students can experience greater body awareness. Gentle Hatha classes include movements that remain focused on strength and flexibility. Incorporating mindfulness and meditation are components of this gentle practice. Yoga for Arthritis Yoga for Arthritis is a powerful tool for reducing joint pain and stiffness, enhancing flexibility and function, and lowering stress levels. It also promotes better sleep and improves range of motion, muscle strength, and physical energy. Additionally, it aids in achieving balance and enhancing respiratory endurance. Scientific studies have shown that practicing Yoga for Arthritis can lead to the growth of grey matter in the brain, improved mental and emotional well-being, and enhanced immune function. |
